Job Title: Pizza Chef (Casual Positions Available) - Italian Fine Dining

Location: Brisbane, Australia

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking casual Pizza Chefs to join our team at our prestigious Italian fine dining restaurant in Brisbane. As a Pizza Chef, you will play a crucial role in delivering the authentic flavors and artistry of Italian pizza making. You will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of Italian-style pizzas using traditional techniques and high-quality ingredients. This position offers a unique opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and contribute to an exceptional dining experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Pizza Preparation and Cooking:

  - Prepare pizza dough from scratch, ensuring consistency and quality.

  - Stretch and shape the dough into perfect rounds or other shapes, maintaining proper thickness and texture.

  - Apply toppings, such as sauces, cheeses, meats, and vegetables, evenly and creatively.

  - Monitor cooking times and temperatures in wood-fired or stone ovens to achieve optimal results.

  - Ensure pizzas are cooked to perfection, with crisp crusts and flavorful toppings.

2. Menu Development and Innovation:

  - Contribute to the creation and development of new pizza recipes and flavors, while considering customer preferences and market trends.

  - Research and experiment with ingredients, techniques, and presentation styles to enhance the pizza menu.

  - Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain a diverse and exciting pizza selection.

3. Quality Control and Standards:

  - Ensure adherence to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.

  - Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and consistency.

  - Conduct regular taste tests to guarantee the flavors meet the restaurant's standards.

4. Ingredient Management:

  - Assist in managing ingredient inventory, ensuring freshness, proper storage, and timely replenishment.

  - Maintain awareness of ingredient costs and efficiently utilize resources.

  - Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality and authentic Italian ingredients.

5. Cleanliness and Food Safety:

  - Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.

  - Regularly clean and maintain pizza ovens, equipment, and workstations.

  - Practice proper personal hygiene and uniform standards.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a Pizza Chef or in a similar role is essential.

- Proficiency in hand-stretching and shaping pizza dough.

- In-depth knowledge of Italian pizza styles, techniques, and ingredients.

- Creativity and ability to develop new pizza flavors and combinations.

- Familiarity with wood-fired or stone ovens and their operation.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

- Culinary qualifications or certifications are beneficial.
